Phoenix CRetro is proud to announce that it has been named a finalist in the prestigious Axco Global Insurance Awards 2026, in the Best Training Initiative in Global Insurance category.
This recognition highlights not only the industry’s appreciation of our efforts to close the ILS education gap but also a growing interest in alternative reinsurance capital, marking a tectonic shift as third-party capital becomes an integral part of global reinsurance capacity.
The Axco Global Insurance Awards uniquely recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements, innovation, and collaboration of the insurance ecosystem that manages complex global risk. The official awards ceremony, where the winners will be announced, will take place on 16 April 2026, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London St Paul’s.
This year’s awards have seen a record-breaking number of entries, each of which underwent a rigorous judging process, with a panel of independent industry experts assessing submissions against strict criteria.
The programme convenor, Kirill Savrassov, said, “We are delighted to be recognised as a finalist in the Axco Awards. This honour is a tremendous acknowledgement of the outstanding work our team at Phoenix CRetro continues to deliver. ABOUT INSURANCE-LINKED SECURITIES (ILS) EDUCATION PROGRAMME
Since its inception in Autumn 2021, Phoenix CRetro’s Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) education programme has grown into a unique and globally recognised initiative. With more than 150 alumni from 56 countries, it remains the only dedicated executive education programme focused exclusively on ILS. We provide participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to thrive in the evolving intersection of (re)insurance and capital markets – a convergence that has become increasingly important in managing modern global risk.
Over the past four years, we’ve delivered 15 seven-week-long online cohorts and introduced an in-person Swiss Summer School, offering participants the opportunity to network with global industry leaders and UN agencies while exploring advanced content. Our alumni represent a diverse spectrum of the global ILS ecosystem, including professionals from major (re)insurers (32%), brokers (13%), asset managers and investment banks (11%), sovereign risk pools (9%), development institutions (8%), and regulatory bodies (4%).
